…baking, cooking, entertaining, quick meals and Martha's Good Things. Cooking 101 has two weeks' worth (five per week) of topics, easy to follow with good, useful information and a selection of recipes to try once you've mastered the technique. Video clips are segments from the TV show.

Pluses: The site gives you access to information from Stewart's magazines and TV shows; the emphasis is on everyday food and recipes the home cook can master.

Minuses: Because the clips are from the show, you have to listen to all the banter. Even worse, the site is difficult to navigate -- we had a hard time finding offerings we'd looked at before, and it wasn't very intuitive.

Bottom line: Good content, good quality information -- if you can find it. We suggest going to the search window on the home page and typing in "Martha's Cooking School," which will at least get you to some good videos.

Grade: 3.25

Favorite fact: Freeze softer cheeses briefly (up to 20 minutes) before grating.

Pluses: Short videos of techniques as online bonuses to the magazine. You can view the current issue, which is jampacked with tips, techniques and recipes presented beautifully on the page. Online sources give you distributor and price information for select featured ingredients.

Minuses: You have to subscribe…

The world's leading studios have embraced Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD to enhance the sound of next-generation optical discs. More than 280 HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc movie titles feature Dolby technologies today, a number that the industry expects to increase significantly in the months to come. In addition, leading integrated circuit makers, including Conexant and Broadcom, are building Dolby Digital Plus into their latest chips for high-definition broadcasting.

Enhancing Digital Entertainment Everywhere

Dolby demonstrated technologies that offer rich and engaging experiences for PCs, camcorders, game consoles, portable media players, and cars, including Dolby Digital 5.1, which will bring cinema-quality surround sound to the Windows Vista[R] operating system. This includes both Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows Vista Home Premium.

Dolby Digital 5.1 is used to bring more vivid and realistic surround gaming experiences on the Sony PlayStation[R] 3 and Microsoft[R] Xbox[R] 360, while Dolby Pro Logic[R] II is used to deliver rich surround sound from a stereo signal on the Nintendo[R] Wii. "Pioneer has combined the latest cutting edge plasma technologies with sleek cosmetics to bring a true theatre experience into the consumer's home," said Paul Meyhoefer, vice president of displays for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. "With nearly ten years of plasma engineering firsts, these Elite plasmas are another example of best-in-class picture, engineering excellence and performance you won't find anywhere else."

PLASMA, A HOME THEATRE MASTERPIECE

Plasma technology is at the forefront in providing significant benefits over less accomplished display technologies. Plasma televisions are the ideal choice for discerning consumers, displaying true to life color, the widest viewing angles (without color shift or distortion) and the ability to provide virtually no motion blur during fast action scenes. Pioneer continues to create technology that makes a difference, upping the ante with each new model of plasma introduced and incorporating more industry first features and benefits than its competitors.

For ease of use, Pioneer plasmas offer TV Guide(TM) OnScreen(R) electronic program guides with eight days of programming. The televisions have dual standard definition (NTSC) and a single high definition (ATSC) tuner built in. They are Digital Cable Ready (DCR) and include a CableCARD(TM) slot…
